Beautiful, yet dancing on the edge of chaos…sums up the styling of this band’s original music.

As part of WXRT’s 93 Days of Summer celebration, six bands will play at this year’s Hop Juice Festival (June 1-2). Friday features performances by local favorites HOSS and The Freddy Jones Band. – The Daily Herald

HOSS is a rock band based in the Chicago metro that has been writing and performing their own music since 2001.  Rooted in the Fox River Valley, HOSS’ song writing and music can be best described as blending Americana, Alt Country Rock, and Indie-infused Jam Band.  The band formed in 2001 and has a solid following.

HOSS has put out three albums to date and in the last year, they contributed two original songs to “Made In Aurora: Vol. 1” and another song for the Christmas Album “Made In Aurora: Vol. 2” – both released on vinyl +CD.  Made in Aurora: Volume 1, a record store day release on Waterloo Sunset Records, has been nominated for the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards for Best Compilation.  This honor is often talked about as the “Indie Grammys” – and will be judged this year by Keith Richards, Tom Waits, Shelby Lynne, Del McCoury, Michael Franti and about 70 others on the panel.

HOSS continues to write new music and performs at street festivals, clubs, pubs, and parties.  HOSS is a great live band.  They can deliver what they’ve done in the studio and their performances are energetic and engaging.  If you like hearing good original music, then get a HOSS album, play it loud, and get out to a live show.
